Owned and operated by Chris “Cupcake” Stockton - a Marine Veteran, U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain, and owner of UpStream Towing, LLC and Breakaway Boat Rentals, UpStream Marine Services was founded not because the lake needed another mechanic, but because it needed a service company built on the same principles that made UpStream Towing one of the area’s most trusted names in on‑water assistance.
Chris has spent years helping boaters from every angle, including responding when "Ship Happens" and things go wrong as UpStream Towing Lake of the Ozarks and Missouri's Best Tow Boat, as well as maintaining a fleet of Tritoon Rental Boats that guests here at Lake of the Ozarks rely on every day at Breakaway Boat Rentals, and most importantly, earning a reputation for showing up, doing the job right, and treating people honestly. That experience taught him something simple: Most major breakdowns don't happen overnight.
